1972

RARE FIRST EDITION

Nadja is an autobiographical novel by the writer and theorist of the surrealist movement André Breton published by Gallimard in 1928, and in an edition revised by the author in 1963. In Italian in the translation by Giordano Falzoni and with a note by Lino Gabellone, it was published in the series " Einaudi Literature" in 1972, then in the "Nuovi coralli" in 1977, and in the "Letture", with a preface by Domenico Scarpa in 2007, at Einaudi [1].

The book, defined by Maurice Blanchot as an "always future book", tells of the meeting between the writer and Léona Delcourt (1902-1941), who calls herself Nadja, which took place for the first time on 4 October 1926 in Paris and includes photographs and drawings , among which, images of the city, theater programs, works and drawings, and portraits of Paul Éluard, Benjamin Péret, Robert Desnos, the actress Blanche Derval (1885-1973), the soothsayer Madame Sacco, the psychiatrist Henri Claude (1869-1945) and the author himself.

L'Amour fou is an autobiographical story by the writer and theorist of the surrealist movement André Breton, written between 1934 and 1936 and published by Gallimard in 1937.

In some ways it can be considered the sequel to the book Nadja, written in 1928, which takes up the formula with the presence of photographs and drawings.
