Considered one of the major artists of the twentieth century, Kirchner was one of the main animators of the expressionist group "Die Brücke", founded in 1905 in Dresden. His paintings, characterized by violently expressive bright colors, range from the landscapes of the early years to the famous urban images, characterized by bold color combinations with a strong dramatic charge.
