Max Horkheimer, founder and long-time director of the renowned Institute for Social Research in Frankfurt, is professor emeritus of philosophy and sociology at the University of Frankfurt.
Theodor W. Adorno, author of Negative Dialectics, worked with Max Horkheimer at the New York Institute for Social Research and later taught at the University of Frankfurt until his death in 1969.
